From the creeks of Hermitage to an independent guide
Stevie Ferguson grew up fishing the creeks of Hermitage, Great Exuma, and has spent his life on the island. His start as a guide came in 1983, when the manager of a local hotel needed someone who knew the cays to help visiting guests. Nine bonefish were caught that first day.
For the next decade, Stevie guided for the Peace & Plenty bonefishing operation. He later established himself as an independent guide, taking guests into the quiet backcountry and flats around Great Exuma.
A calm approach for every experience level
No two anglers fish the same way. Stevie pays attention to what each guest needs, whether that means helping someone hold a fly rod for the first time, improving a cast, reading the tide or finding a productive stretch of water for an experienced angler.
His service includes bonefishing, fly-fishing instruction and spin fishing, with reef and deep-sea outings available by arrangement. Conditions and the group’s goals shape the plan for each day.

Local knowledge is the difference
Exuma’s tides can create very different fishing conditions within a small area. Knowing where fish may travel, when a creek will open up and which flat can be reached safely comes from years on the water. That practical knowledge is at the heart of every trip.
